Hello everyone! I’m Karshu.
Today, I’ll share my stay at Hotel Nikko Alivila, a very popular resort hotel with an exotic European atmosphere located in Yomitan Village, central Okinawa Main Island. I’ve brought plenty of photos to show you its charm!
🏨 [Notice] This review is a two-part series!
To cover all the highlights of Alivila, I’ve split the review into the following two parts. Please check out both posts to plan your perfect trip!
・[Part 1] Room, Amenities, and Beach (This article)
・[Part 2] Dining, Breakfast, and Restaurants: [Part 2] Hotel Nikko Alivila Dining Guide: Sawa Breakfast, Aliacara Sweets, and Dinner Booking Tips here!
Speaking of Hotel Nikko Alivila, it’s famous for its Spanish Colonial style architecture that makes you feel like you’re visiting a villa in southern Europe, as well as the beautiful Nirai Beach with outstanding clarity right in front of the hotel. Actually, as soon as you step inside the hotel, the elegant, sweet scent of their original fragrance “White Gardenia” gently wafts through the air, instantly boosting your vacation mood! (By the way, this noble scent is so popular among guests that the gift shops in the hotel sell original items like fragrance oils, diffusers, and room sprays so you can enjoy the scent of Alivila back at home!) This time, I will report the real charm I experienced during my stay, from the guest rooms and original amenities to the sunset at the beautiful beach!

[Stay Report] A 2-Day, 1-Night Stay at Hotel Nikko Alivila
Here is my actual stay report from our 2-day, 1-night vacation at Hotel Nikko Alivila! I’ll cover the hotel’s atmosphere, our guest room, and the bathroom area in detail.
1. An Exotic Atmosphere Like a Southern European Villa
The moment you step into the hotel, you are transported to another world. The white walls and terracotta-colored tiled roofs stand out beautifully against the blue sky, making you feel as if you’ve wandered into a European resort town.

This is the exterior of the white hotel surrounded by palm trees under the blue sky. The red-tiled roof blends beautifully with Okinawa’s nature, pulling you into an extraordinary vacation world the moment you arrive.
As you walk through the building, you’ll be captivated by the photogenic architecture and elegant furnishings. The famous arched corridor is particularly breathtaking. The contrast of the natural light and lush greenery is truly magical, showing exactly why the hotel is often described as the “Alivila Museum.”

A beautiful corridor featuring continuous arches representing Spanish Colonial architecture. Lush green plants are placed on both sides, bringing peace to your heart just by walking through it.

The view of the beautiful patio (inner courtyard) through the arched window in the corridor. The window frame acts like a picture frame, creating a stunning capture of the landscape.
At the center of the hotel is a spacious patio with a fountain. During the day, the sound of water echoes under the blue sky, and from dusk to night, it is lit up to create a romantic atmosphere.

An elegant fountain with clear water in the center of the patio. Decorated with classical sculptures, it enhances the luxurious southern European resort vibe.

The courtyard and guest room wings as warm lights begin to glow at dusk. The transition from the refreshing daytime look to a mature, calm evening atmosphere is truly special.
2. Spacious Guest Room with an Ocean View (Superior Twin)
We stayed in the spacious Superior Twin room. Every room at Alivila is designed to be 43 square meters or larger and comes with a private balcony. The interior design features warm colors inspired by Spanish tiles.

The Superior Twin guest room with an orange accent wall. The beds are neatly made, providing a clean and comfortable setting, and the wooden headboard adds a touch of warmth.

A view of the guest room taken from the balcony (window) side. The orange accent wall and wood-grain ceiling create a warm atmosphere, while natural light from the window makes the entire room feel bright and open.

The warm wooden ceiling and the slowly rotating ceiling fan. It creates a relaxing tropical resort atmosphere, making you feel the slow flow of time.
The storage space and room amenities were also excellent. Inside the closet, you will find hangers, comfortable slippers, and a safety deposit box.

Inside the closet, a safe for valuables, clean nightwear, and take-home slippers are neatly organized.
What is really fun is that the furniture in the guest room is designed with leather straps and orange leather accents, resembling vintage travel trunks! Opening the drawers makes you feel like an adventurer from the golden age of travel.

When opening the drawer decorated with leather straps, glasses of different sizes were beautifully arranged. The travel theme shown in the details of the furniture is outstanding.

Opening the cabinet door reveals an electric kettle stored perfectly inside. It is designed so that daily appliances are kept out of sight to maintain the resort room aesthetic.

Another drawer contained fluffy white bath towels and extra room slippers. It feels like opening a trunk to unpack your travel gear.
In the mini-bar, free mineral water was provided. Surprisingly, this is water from Kume Island! Natural water born from deep ocean water in Okinawa, it tasted very smooth and refreshing when chilled.

Complimentary bottles of “Kumi no Mizu” (Kume Island deep seawater). It’s great to have services that let you feel the natural blessings of the local area.
3. Bath Amenities Infused with Deep Seawater from Kume Island
The bathroom area was very clean and convenient. The vanity area is wide and the amenities are logically arranged. The bathroom features a deep bathtub, and they even provide jasmine (sanpin tea) bath herbs, which are incredibly relaxing for washing away the travel fatigue.

A bright, stylish vanity with a large mirror. The wide space next to the sink provides plenty of room to lay out your own cosmetics and pouch. Amenities like toothbrushes and hairbrushes are neatly arranged in a box with the hotel logo.

A clean, white-themed bathroom. The bathtub is spacious enough to stretch your legs and soak, and the shower area separated by a glass door is very convenient to use.

Filling the bathtub with hot water. The hot water flow (water pressure) is not extremely fast, but it has plenty of pressure to fill the tub without any stress. Soaking up to your shoulders in the large tub is perfect for relaxing.
What is highly special is Alivila’s original bath amenities. They are formulated using deep seawater from Kume Island, enriched with local Okinawan natural beauty ingredients like sea grapes, mozuku seaweed, and Choumeisou (peucedanum japonicum). They leave your skin and hair feeling wonderfully moisturized.

The original shampoo, conditioner, and body soap bottles. They share the same elegant White Gardenia fragrance as the lobby. When used in the bath, the entire bathroom was filled with a sweet, noble scent, providing the ultimate healing experience. If you want to enjoy this scent at home, original goods like room sprays and aroma oils are sold at the hotel shops and make perfect souvenirs!
4. Nirai Beach and the Beautiful Garden Pool
One of the greatest charms of Alivila is the blue sea viewed from the guest room balcony, the natural Nirai Beach right in front, and the large garden pool in the courtyard. Feeling the sea breeze from your private balcony is an absolute bliss.

Comfortable woven chairs placed on the balcony. You can read a book or enjoy tea while looking out at the panoramic ocean view all to yourself.

A breathtaking view from the guest room balcony. In the center, the Lazor Garden Alivila Cristea Church stands beautifully, and in front, the beautiful blue gradient of Nirai Beach spreads out.

The garden pool in the courtyard features a beautiful blue surface surrounded by palm trees and the elegant hotel wings, creating an exotic resort vibe. With plenty of comfortable sunbeds lined up by the pool, lying down here and feeling the gentle sea breeze is an absolute bliss.
Nirai Beach in front of the hotel is a natural beach boasting some of the highest water clarity in Okinawa. Its appearance changes with the tides, and the sunset here is particularly breathtaking. Walking along the sandy beach is a wonderful way to refresh your mind.

The fine white sand beach of Nirai Beach. The red-tiled roof of the Alivila Glory Church stands in the distance, showing a beautiful contrast against the blue shoreline.

A moving sunset view as the sun sinks behind the giant rocks eroded by the waves. The sky turns from gold to deep red, wrapping the beach in a mystical silence.
5. Welcome Perks and One Harmony Membership Cards
Upon checking in at the front desk, you are handed these service tickets and discount coupons along with your room key. It is exciting to see so many privileges that allow you to enjoy your stay even more.

A card key with a warm wooden design, along with a 20% discount coupon for marine activities, a spa discount, and a lounge service ticket. Actually, we had eaten a lot of pizza at “Ocean’s Pizza” before arriving at the hotel (I plan to write a separate review for Ocean’s Pizza later, so stay tuned!), but since the lounge service was so inviting, we decided to use it later!
At check-in, the front desk staff also introduced us to the “One Harmony” membership program (the loyalty program of Okura Nikko Hotels) with this leaflet. It is free to join with no annual fees, and anyone can easily sign up on the spot.

The leaflet detailing the benefits of One Harmony membership. Members get dining discounts and special rates, and Royal status and above enjoy premium benefits like free parking, early check-in, and late check-out. Benefits vary depending on membership status, so it’s a good idea to check the official guidelines beforehand.
💡 Karshu’s Local Tip!
You can sign up for “One Harmony” at the front desk during check-in, but registering online beforehand makes the process much smoother. The dining discount is easy for any member to use, and since premium perks like free parking apply to Royal status and above, I recommend checking the status requirements before your stay.
