I originally drove to Okinawa Soba Ryujin simply for a bowl of soba. But the moment I reached Uppama Beach, the sea was so beautiful that I became excited before I had even ordered. This is a restaurant where the view is memorable—and, importantly, the food is genuinely delicious too.
Location: right by Uppama Beach
The shop is inside the Uppama Beach area in Nakijin Village. The final approach feels more like heading to the beach than entering a commercial district. Look for the restaurant signs and use the free dedicated parking next to the building.

Inside and how to order
The interior was bright, clean and easy to enter even for a first visit. Orders were placed verbally at the counter when I visited. If Japanese is difficult, showing the menu photo or the dish name on your phone should make ordering easier.

Then there is this view from the terrace:

I also filmed a short video from the terrace so you can get a better sense of the sea, the beach and the atmosphere around the seats.
On a sunny day the blue gradation is wonderful. In midsummer the terrace can be hot, but when I visited the staff kindly brought out a large fan. If you are sensitive to heat, choose an indoor seat.

What I ate: Ryujin Soba and extra tebichi

I ordered the signature Ryujin Soba and added tebichi on the side. The bowl includes three styles of pork, so it is a good choice if you want to try Okinawan soba in one generous serving.

The broth looked clear and tasted clean, with bonito aroma coming through first. The custom curly noodles caught the soup well without feeling heavy.

The meat was properly tender, especially the tebichi. This was not a case of a scenic location carrying an average meal—the soba itself made me want to return.

My takeaway
I went only for soba and ended up wanting to stay for the beach. Ryujin works especially well for travelers exploring northern Okinawa by car, couples who want an ocean-view lunch, and families combining a meal with time by the sea. I would happily return with my family.
